Configuring NTP and time zone

Configuring NTP servers

Time synchronization is essential, to allow correct timestamping of LoRaWAN® frames and ensure that your base station operates with the right time reference.

This time synchronization is fulfilled through the NTP protocol. To make this possible, your base station must communicate with one or several distant NTP servers. Follow these steps to configure the list of NTP servers:

  1. From SUPLOG's root menu, choose System configuration, then Network then NTP:
  2. Update the list of NTP servers. You may set up to 3 servers, separated by a space.
  3. Once you are done with your changes in this menu, click Confirm to save your configuration. At this stage, the configuration is only saved by the system, but it has not yet been applied to the base station. To learn more, see Apply/commit/rollback mechanism.

Configuring the time zone

To change the time zone of your base station, follow these steps:

  1. From SUPLOG's root menu, choose System configuration, then Network then Time zone.
  2. Choose your time zone. The list is ordered alphabetically by region (Africa, America, Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe...). Use up/down arrows to move into the list.
  3. Click Confirm to save your configuration. At this stage, the configuration is only saved by the system, but it has not yet been applied to the base station. To learn more, see Apply/commit/rollback mechanism.
