IP Network Status

The connection status between the connector and IPCore is shown by the VPN Agent statuses. It is updated by IPCore depending on the incoming and outgoing packet.

It is displayed on every IP Network details page as illustrated below. This page is accessible by clicking an IP Network in the IP Networks list.

The Status information area provides two types of information:

  • VPN downlink: The status of the VPN Agent for the downlink, with its timestamp.
  • VPN uplink: The status of the VPN Agent for the uplink, with its timestamp.

VPN Agent status

The uplink and downlink processing use the status messages to inform you on the state of the VPN Agent.
They are combined with a color chip that is either grey, green or red.

VPN Agent status

Default Status

By default, until the data exchange runs for the first time, the VPN Agents have a grey chip (status "never connected") and a null timestamp.

Status Lifespan

The status of VPN Agent is computed in Acklio IPCore and updated periodically (30s) in Acklio IPCore CDP through a gRPC service.

The status of VPN Agent never expires.

Status Update

The VPN Agent status is updated to Connected when it starts to forward some traffic (uplink and downlink).
It is updated to Disconnected when it is stopped.

The status reported at timestamp is updated when the VPN Agent status is received in acklio IPCore CDP.
