Appliance/VM deployments

Self-hosted ThingPark Enterprise on Appliance/VM can be deployed either:

  • on-premises, using bare-metal servers or virtual machines,
  • on cloud provider, for instance, using AWS or Azure cloud services.

You can deploy ThingPark Enterprise either:

  • without high-availability, as a standalone node,
  • with high-availability and no split-brain risk, as a three-node cluster.

The ThingPark Enterprise Appliance/VM installation is available in two different modes:

  • online mode requires access to a remote Actility repository through the internet,
  • offline mode installs with local media and does not require internet access.

Deploy ThingPark Enterprise Appliance/VM on-premises

  1. Setup your server or virtual machine using the Operating System ISO image (SHA-256 checksum: f6f32f80ebdfa8abb5955123ba28394552dba9f406385ade389f69106e18a8de). To learn more about the required hardware, see sizing hardware.

  2. Then, to install, upgrade or configure ThingPark Enterprise when your server/virtual machines are successfully setup, follow the guidelines described in the ThingPark Enterprise installation guide.

Deploy ThingPark Enterprise Appliance/VM on a cloud provider

  1. Setup your virtual machine or machines on the cloud provider:

    • For AWS: Use the TPE shared AMI accessible from the Amazon EC2 console, under "Community AMIs" category, by searching for TPE-OCP. For security, check that the owner account of the AMI is 808508158480 (Actility account). To learn more about deploying AMI in AWS EC2 environments, refer to AWS EC2 documentation.

    • For Azure: Follow the steps described on ThingPark Enterprise deployment on Microsoft Azure.

To learn more about the required hardware sizing see sizing hardware.

  2. Then, to install, upgrade or configure ThingPark Enterprise when your virtual machines are successfully set up, follow the guidelines described in the ThingPark Enterprise installation guide.
