Associating devices with domains

If you are entitled to an Administrator role or to a Devices Manager role, you can run this procedure.

Associating devices with domains allows to restrict their visibility. To learn more, see About domains.

note

If your user account has domain restrictions, the devices must still satisfy your domain restrictions after the execution of this procedure. It means that:

• You cannot replace an existing domain with another domain not matching your domain restrictions.
• You cannot remove a domain matching your domain restrictions.

Associating devices with domains from the list

1. Select Devices.

2. On the List tab, filter the devices for which you want to add the same domain restrictions. To learn more, see Filtering devices and Viewing all devices in the list.

3. Select devices by ticking the corresponding boxes.

   -> The domains icon is activated.

4. Click to associate the selected devices with domains.

5. In Add or replace domains, click to add a domain.

6. In Name, type to find and select the domain to add.

   note

   If some selected devices are already associated with domains belonging to the same group, those domains are replaced with the new one.

7. Repeat the steps 4 and 5 for each domain to add.

8. In Remove domains, click to remove a domain.

9. In Name, type to find and select the domain to remove.

10. Repeat the steps 7 and 8 for each domain to remove.

11. Click VALIDATE.

    -> The selected domains are added/replaced/removed from the selected devices.

Associating devices with domains from the map

Associating devices with domains from the map allows you to perform domains association based on the geographical location.

1. Select Devices.

2. Select the Map tab and filter the devices for which you want to add the same domain restrictions. To learn more, see Filtering devices and Viewing devices on the map.

3. Zoom until no clusters appear on the map.

   -> The domains icon is activated.

4. Click to associate the displayed devices with domains.

5. In Add or replace domains, click to add a domain.

6. In Name, type to find and select the domain to add.

   note

   If some displayed devices are already associated with domains belonging to the same group, those domains are replaced with the new one.

7. Repeat the steps 4 and 5 for each domain to add.

8. In Remove domains, click to remove a domain.

9. In Name, type to find and select the domain to remove.

10. Repeat the steps 7 and 8 for each domain to remove.

11. Click VALIDATE.

    -> The selected domains are added/replaced/removed from the displayed devices.
