Creating domains

This task is reserved to users entitled to the Administrator role.

  1. In Manage > Domains, click Create.

    -> The domain creation form opens.

  2. In Group, select an existing domain group and go to step 3, or click Create a group to create a new group as explained below.

    1. Name you domain group. The domain group name cannot exceed 20 characters nor include trailing spaces.

      Warning

      Once defined at creation step, the domain group name cannot be changed afterward.

    2. In Color, select a badge color to be used when displaying domains belonging to this domain group. Default color is gray. Select one of the eight pre-selected colors, or click More colors to open the pad color and select another one.

    3. (Optional) In the Description frame, write any useful information regarding your domain group.

    4. Click CREATE.

      -> The domain group is successfully created.

  3. In Name, enter the domain name. Domains belonging to the same group must have distinct names. Domain name may contain "/" characters to define a parent/child hierarchy. You can add up-to five children to a domain. A domain child name cannot exceed 20 characters.

    Example EMEA/France, EMEA/Germany, EMEA/United-Kingdom, EMEA/France/Paris...

    Warning

    Once defined at creation step, the domain name cannot be changed afterwards.

  4. By default, Activation is ON. You can switch the Activation button to OFF, but an inactive domain cannot be associated with new resources.

  5. (Optional) In the Description frame, write any useful information regarding your domain.

  6. (Optional) If you want to create another domain in the same group, tick Create another.

  7. Click CREATE.

    -> The domain is successfully created.

    -> (Optional) If you ticked Create another at step 6, you are redirected to the creating a domain form with the domain group already filled.
